SURVEY SEASON IS DRAWING TO A CLOSE
With just one month left of the core bat activity season, developers have just a matter of weeks to seek surveys ahead of submitting planning applications requiring the demolition of buildings this year.
As a European protected species, local authorities can require bat surveys to be completed prior to granting planning permission for any development which could cause harm to bats.
As planning application determination could be delayed for several months if this work isn’t completed within the survey window, and with the next opportunities to undertake such surveys being May 2019, time is of the essence!
