HARRIS LAMB SELLS WOLVERHAMPTON LAND PARCEL TO LOVELL HOMES FOR 151 NEW PROPERTIES
Harris Lamb has sold a substantial site in Wolverhampton to developer Lovell Homes, which plans to build 151 new properties on the land.
The 8.45-acre site off Steelhouse Lane was marketed by the business’ Residential Land team, who were instructed to sell the brownfield site to aid ex-industrial redevelopment in the city.
The land had been deemed suitable for a number of planning uses, and permission is already in place for up to 151 homes, to include one-bedroom apartments and two- to four-bed houses.
A number of potential buyers expressed interest in the site, with Lovell Homes successfully securing it as part of its commitment to providing new homes across the UK for an undisclosed fee.
Half of the properties will be dedicated to affordable housing.
James Willcock, of the Residential Land team, said: “We are delighted to have released a redundant brownfield site in order to help create much-needed newhomes in Wolverhampton.
“The demand for housing in close proximity to the city centre is high, and this redevelopment will play a huge part in the region’s urban regeneration.
“Lovell Homes has a fantastic track record when it comes to delivering quality homes and regenerating ex-industrial redundant sites, and everyone is very keen to get started,” he added.
Work at the Steelhouse Lane site is expected to start in early 2019.
