£3.4MILLION AFFORDABLE HOMES SCHEME SET TO GO AHEAD IN SMETHWICK

Harris Lamb has acquired a land parcel on behalf of Bhandal Developments Ltd to enable a £3.4 million affordable housing scheme to go ahead in Sandwell.

The business’ residential land team acquired the acre of land off Little Moor Hill in Smethwick. and obtained detailed planning permission for 22 new family homes at the site, before coordinating the sale of the land to West Mercia Housing, who will work in partnership with the developer to bring the homes to fruition.

Chris Jones, head of Residential Land, said: “This is great news for the Sandwell region. Working together, WMH and Bhandal Developments will deliver much needed affordable homes for rent and shared ownership in the area.

“WMH has an impressive record of providing new homes, and this particular project, scheduled for completion in Autumn 2020, has received grant funding from Homes England.

“We’re delighted to have played a part in bringing a much-needed scheme of this kind to the West Midlands, and we’re looking forward to seeing it come to fruition,” he added.

Chris added that the team has been very active in the last few months and that further ‘package deals’ ,  land acquisitions, disposals and s106 projects are planned to come forward in the coming months with a series of developer and Housing Association clients.
