HARRIS LAMB ACHIEVES CIEEM MEMBERSHIP TO OPERATE AS AN ECOLOGY CONSULTANCY
Harris Lamb’s Environmental team has achieved membership of the CIEEM, reflecting its role as an ecology consultancy in its own right.
The business launched its Environmental division in February 2018, appointing Dr Holly Smith to oversee it and develop its offering. With the dedicated team now having grown to five and its client base continuing to grow, Harris Lamb has now achieved Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management Corporate membership status.
The team provides a range of services from pre-planning advice and surveys to Environmental Impact Assessments to the business’ client portfolio, and is now set to further its skillset courtesy of registration with the organisation.
Holly said: “We are delighted with the way that Harris Lamb clients have embraced the environmental services we offer, and that it is having such an impact on the way they think about their projects. The property sector is changing – concerns about the environment are being highlighted more than ever before, with developers now being required to demonstrate the steps they have taken to protect and preserve the ecosystems they are working within, and therefore requiring expert assistance in doing so safely and legally.
“The past year has seen us develop a passionate team of specialists, including a licensed bat ecologist, and our growing client portfolio has seen us work within the commercial, residential, infrastructure and educational sectors on a diverse range of ecology and Environmental Impact Assessment projects.
“The CIEEM is a highly respected body providing insight and advice to governments on ecological and environmental management practice, and our being registered with the organisation has given us increased influence within our field, as well as access to further training to increase our technical expertise, which will in turn benefit each of the clients we work with on ecology and environmental projects,” she added.
The team works with a number of residential developers including Bloor, Redrow, Barratt and Bovis Homes, as well as with commercial clients including TATA and Barberry.
