HARRIS LAMB WELCOMES ASSOCIATE ECOLOGIST STUART SILVER TO THE BUSINESS
Harris Lamb has appointed an Associate Ecologist to work with its expanding Environment team.
Stuart Silver has joined the business having spent 19 years working as an ecologist at companies including British Waterways and Ecus Ltd.
Stuart comes from a strong consultancy background, and holds a number of Licences permitting him to undertake surveys for species including bats, white-clawed crayfish, badgers and great crested newts, and is a qualified Site Manager (SMSTS) able to manage and deliver Environmental Contracting works.
Stuart has recently delivered a wide range of habitat management works including de-vegetation projects, creation of new wetland habitats for the RSPB, badger licensing and sett closures, river restoration works and much more.
Stuart said: “With my background in ecology and environmental contracting works, I’m excited to be joining Harris Lamb. Our ability to undertake environmental contracting works is a natural fit for both the planning and environment team and the wider company and means we can offer additional services to our clients.
“With the strengthening of planning policy with environmental issues such as biodiversity net gain, maximising the value of retained habitats on a development site has never been more important, minimising the need for costly off-site mitigation/compensation works.
“I’m looking forward to working with such a diverse range of clients within the commercial development sector and helping our clients to maximise the ecological and commercial value of their developments.
Dr Holly Smith, Director of the Environmental department, added: “I previously worked with Stuart for over 10 years and he is a fantastic field ecologist. With his pragmatic approach to habitat creation and mitigation, and his extensive experience, I knew he would bring the right combination of skills to support our clients.”
