HARRIS LAMB REPORTS STRONG INVESTOR INTEREST IN FORMER JEWSON SITE IN BURSLEM

Agents at Harris Lamb are reporting high enquiry levels in a rare opportunity to purchase the freehold of a former builder’s merchant in Stoke on Trent.

The former Jewson site on Westport Road in Burslem is being marketed at a guide price of £995,000.

Mike Burr, of the business’ Stoke office, said viewings of the property, which comprises of 8,339 sq ft of industrial buildings set on a two-acre site, were already underway, with strong interest from both investors and occupiers.

The 2.1-acre site compromises two buildings, one of which has been previously used as a storage centre and has five roller shutters, and one with a trade counter area, first floor offices and a roller shutter to the rear.

Located on Westport Road, the property benefits from excellent access links, being positioned just a mile away from the A500 dual carriageway, and approximately seven miles from the national motorway network via junctions 15 and 16 of the M6.

Mike said: “Opportunities to purchase freehold sites of this nature are few and far between, and further to high enquiry levels around the property, we have already overseen a significant number of viewings with potential buyers.

“In addition to the two warehouses, there is a large yard with a further standalone service yard building, providing additional storage space as required, providing ample accommodation and loading areas. While the site has long been used for industrial purposes, it is positioned between Coop Academy Trust School and residential properties, thereby being suitable for potential redevelopment subject to planning permission being obtained.

“We’re seeing interest from both businesses keen to own the freehold of an established industrial site with good access links, and from investors recognising its potential redevelopment opportunities,” he added.
