HARRIS LAMB APPOINTS KEN PHILLIPS AS DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL LAND

Harris Lamb has appointed business development and land acquisition expert Ken Phillips to take the helm of its Residential Land department.

The former Regional Managing Director at MCI Developments Ltd (a Keepmoat Homes company) has been appointed as Director of Residential Land, bringing more than 35 years’ experience within the residential land sector to the role.

Having held senior positions for a wide range of developers including CALA Homes, Redrow Homes and Taylor Wimpey, Ken has established a stellar reputation for exceptional new business development and land acquisition throughout his career.

In the professional sphere Ken is experienced at Development Appraisals, the exercise of strategic land options, and Development Viability; with key achievements including the acquisition of in excess of 10,000 plots for immediate private development and social housing across 110 sites, 46 private housing partnership deals with a collective value in excess of £150m and, more recently, six deals involving Grant Funded Affordable in Partnership with Registered Providers.

A big supporter of Partnership Housebuilding, Ken has developed strong relationships with Homes England delivery partners, and is committed to understanding and meeting their objectives relating to sustainability, design, and delivery.

Andrew Lamb, Director, said he was delighted with the appointment: “I am thrilled that we have secured such a high profile and well-respected expert to head up our residential team. Ken needs no introduction within the sector, and his extensive track record in inspiring his team and delivering dynamic projects is one that we are all incredibly excited to learn and benefit from.

“Ken will support all of our offices, working alongside our planning and environmental teams to build on the continuing success of these departments, providing a one-stop-shop to clients, partners and stakeholders alike.”

Ken added: “I have known Andrew Lamb for years and have long admired the diverse range of disciplines Harris Lamb offers. Since it first established its Residential department I have watched it move from strength to strength, overseeing a diverse range of projects across the UK and developing a strong reputation within the sector.

“The business’ commitment to working alongside key organisations to provide affordable housing and to connect landowners and developers in order to address the ongoing UK housing shortage is aligned with my own objectives, and I am particularly excited to be working closely with the dedicated environment team in order to be able to offer a fully rounded offering to clients.”
