GLOWING INVESTORS IN PEOPLE REPORT SETS HARRIS LAMB APART FROM ITS COMPETITORS AS IT CONFIRMS ITS CONTINUED GROWTH PROGRAM
Harris Lamb has launched an aggressive growth program having been awarded an outstanding report by management excellence specialists Investors In People.
The business, which first achieved Investor In People status in 2004, was assessed in December last year as part of its ongoing commitment to upholding the accolade, and was described by assessor Corinne Wainwright as: “a company that lives by its values, is regarded as a good employer and has a friendly and relaxed culture driving successful results and a good reputation.”
She went on to say: “There is a high sense of pride in the company and people are strongly committed to ensuring the company’s success for the directors and for the business.”
Neil Harris, director, said: “We place a great deal of importance on these ongoing assessments and this standard is one that we are particularly proud of and determined to uphold.
“We have always taken pride in how dedicated and close-knit our team is, and we’ve made every effort to support them and provide a framework that helps people develop their careers. To get the feedback from the assessor following individual staff interviews gives us enormous satisfaction as it shows us that the support we give and the ethos we strive to encourage is both acknowledged and appreciated.
“We were particularly pleased to hear that employees have described Harris Lamb as having a ‘family’ approach and that our high levels of trust, security, flexibility and professionalism were considered to be strong values that set us apart from our competitors when it comes to both the way we treat our workforce and the way we carry out our business,” he said.
The company was further praised for its commitment to supporting staff in advancing their careers, often offering administration staff the opportunity to change career and qualify as surveyors to become further immersed in the business, and for its flexible, caring and compassionate approach when it came to the all-important work-life balance.
Corinne added: “The approach taken by Harris Lamb to the way that people are led, managed and developed received high acclaim by employees. This has led to high staff satisfaction and high staff retention.”
Neil said: “That acknowledgement is a huge boost for us as this year will see us undertake a major recruitment drive in order to develop the business and drive it forward. The glowing report that IIP has provided us with is something that we hope will attract and secure more quality employees to enhance our talented team further.
“As it stands, Harris Lamb employs 53 people, a figure that we envisage increasing by 15 per cent over the next 12 months as we develop our service offering and expand the teams in each of our offices,” he added.
