BACK ON THE TRAINING TRAIL…
Last weekend saw the Worcester City 10k run, and as usual, our resident road runner Fiona Mellor donned her trainers to take to the streets.
One of 2,200 people taking part in the event, Fiona completed the course in 55 minutes.
Running with her training partners Jayne Shaw and Katie Tomkins, Fiona said: “I always enjoy taking part in the Worcester runs, it’s always such picturesque scenery and the atmosphere is always buzzing.
“The course took us past the Cathedral and the cricket ground, and along the river, and there was a huge amount of support – although I suspect the majority might have been there for the half marathon runners… Either way, it’s a great motivator to pick up pace and push yourself harder.
“My time placed me 32nd in my category, which considering the number of people taking part, I take as quite an achievement! I’ll definitely be joining in again next year, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a course to remember.”
