The Haematology Department at Birmingham Children’s Hospital were able to celebrate World Blood Donor Day with the help of a a charitable donation from Team HL.
The hospital used the funds to raise awareness of the ongoing need for more blood donors to help the sick children at BCHl and to thank those who already donate.
Andrew Hulbert, Director, said: “Harris Lamb takes its commitment to local causes and charities very seriously, and there are few assets more vital to the region than Birmingham Children’s Hospital. We had seen that the hospital was urging donors to come forward due to blood stocks being critically low, and wanted to help with their awareness campaign – and couldn’t think of a better time to do so than World Blood Donor Day.
A spokesperson for the hospital said: Our patients rely on blood products for a wide variety of issues such as malignancies, operations and traumas.
“Without the generosity our of donors our patients would not received the life saving procedures they require, and we would like to thank Harris Lamb for enabling us to celebrate World Blood Donor Day 2024.”
