DEMAND FOR STOKE INDUSTRIAL ESTATE CREATES ALMOST 100 NEW JOBS

Demand for space at a new Stoke-on-Trent industrial estate sited at a former pottery factory has led to almost 100 jobs created in the town, with agents at Harris Lamb stating that the site is now close to capacity.

200 Scotia Road has been developed on the former Dudson pottery factory site in Tunstall., with a number of new occupiers attracted to the 10 high-specification industrial units at the estate.

Mike Burr, of Harris Lamb’s Stoke office, said: “There has been a lot of interest in this industrial opportunity, with occupiers including United Networks Group, Comp Door and Knights solicitors being attracted to the property.

“We’re also delighted to have secured US-based wind turbine manufacturer Avid Controls, to the estate, with the business having chosen 200 Scotia Road as its first UK site.

“While there are now just two units left until the estate reaches capacity, we are particularly pleased with the number of jobs being created within the region as the new occupiers expand,” he said.

Door manufacturer Comp Door, which chose its new space to use as a distribution base to serve the company’s factory in Chesterton, has created 10 new jobs, while United Networks has announced a ‘significant’ recruitment drive for 60 jobs including HGV drivers, labourers, and digger machine drivers.

Jennie Brown of Vengrove, who own and developed the estate, said: “We are thrilled to welcome such a strong mix of tenants to 200 Scotia Road.

“The rapid uptake of units highlights the demand for high-quality industrial space in Stoke, and we’re confident that these businesses will thrive in their new premises.”

The site was home to Dudson until it went into administration in 2019.
