HARRIS LAMB APPOINTS TWO NEW ECOLOGISTS TO ENVIRONMENTAL TEAM
Harris Lamb has expanded its successful environmental consultancy department with the appointment of two further ecologists.
Liam Murtagh and Abigail Lloyd have joined the business as assistant ecologists, having previously worked as graduate ecologists at Delta Simmons Environmental Consultants and AECOM respectively.
Dr Holly Smith, Director, said: “Since Harris Lamb formed its Environmental Department in 2018, the team has expanded quickly, and provides a diverse range of services for the business’ clientele. We are entering an incredibly busy period and with so many surveys and assessments to deliver, it was essential to develop the department and Abigail and Liam were both a great fit.
“Abigail has extensive experience of conducting surveys for protected species and is currently working to secure her Great Crested Newts and Bat licences, and Liam is experienced in a range of skills including ecological surveying, protected species identification, environmental management, land and construction environmental management plans and GIS mapping software, all of which are essential services to fulfil our commitments to our clients.
“They each bring important skills and will be key assets to our business. We are delighted to have them on board,” she said.
Abigail said: “I am passionate about ecology and always keen to improve my understanding in the dynamic field, and from what I’ve learned about Harris Lamb’s work and the projects the team delivers for its clients, I am confident that I will be able to expand my skills and contribution alongside my colleagues and secure the Licences I am working toward to advance my experience. I am excited to become part of such an enthusiastic and experienced team.”
Liam added: “Ever since completing my BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences (Ecology and Environmental Management, I have been committed to further my knowledge of and involvement in ecological management. Having spent the past two years developing my skills within the field to support my colleagues with species identification, coordination of survey strategies and ensuring timely reporting and analysis, I am looking forward to developing my skillset further with the support of Holly and the team.
