OLIVIA’S MASTER PLAN

A planner at Harris Lamb is on track to become a Master of her trade having achieved a Msc degree from the University of Birmingham.

Olivia Morris has spent the past two years working towards the Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, finally graduating with a Distinction last month.

OLIVIA’S MASTER PLAN

Having fitted in her studies around her full-time role within the business’ planning team, Olivia now plans to advance her education further by achieving Chartered status within the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Olivia said: “Since starting this Master’s degree in September 2017, I’ve been fortunate enough to benefit from a huge amount of support, guidance and encouragement from my colleagues.

“Aside from allowing me the time to study and to attend lectures every week for two years, they shared their knowledge and guidance with me throughout the whole course,  particularly during my Dissertation, where their experiences proved invaluable in assisting my research.

“It’s been hard work, but I am thrilled to have achieved the goal, and am now focussed on the next stage of my career, which will see me work towards my RTPI Assessment of Professional Competence over the course of the next year, culminating in my becoming  a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

“ I know the team around me will give me just as much guidance and support in achieving that as they have throughout this process, and I’m lucky to be part of such a supportive team,” she added.

Simon Hawley, Director at Harris Lamb, said: “Olivia is an extremely committed member of our planning team and from the moment she announced her intention to secure her Master’s degree, there was no doubt in any of our minds that she would not only achieve that, but that she’d do so at the highest level.

“The diligence she has shown in both her studies and in the work she undertakes here are a testament to her, and having seen how focused she is when she sets her mind to something, we are confident we’ll be announcing that next milestone in 12 month’s time. We’re extremely proud of her and we look forward to helping her future goals.”
