HELPING RAISE FUNDS FOR BIRMINGHAM HOSPITALS WITH #NHSSWEATYSELFIES
Team HL has been inspired by the legendary Gymshark’s commitment to raising thousands of pounds for vital life-saving equipment with the click of a camera.
The gymwear giant wants to raise £175,000 for Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charities – a figure that will have a massive impact on buying vital medical equipment and helping their teams save lives – and to do that, it has pledged to donate £5 for every photograph uploaded to Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #nhssweatyselfie.
The campaign will run until 8pm on Thursday April 30th.
As an active bunch who love a challenge, Team HL has jumped on board to encourage their colleagues, friends and families to post their own sweaty selfies, and the Board of Directors has added an extra incentive by matching the £5 donation for every member of HL staff taking part.
Andrew Hulbert, Director, said; “The #NHSSweatySelfie campaign is a brilliant piece of engagement with a fantastic end goal. For a brand to commit to raising £175,000 to charity is phenomenal, and the way they’ve encouraged everyone in the region to play their part by simply snapping a photo of themselves at the end of their exercise session is brilliant.
“As soon as we found out about the campaign we wanted to jump on board, and agreed that for every Harris Lamb #nhssweatyselfie, we’d match the £5 donation – as I told my colleagues, it’s the easiest £10 they’ll ever make for charity, and I’m happy to say that most of us are adding an additional £5 donation as we post the selfies too.
“The past few weeks have brought about a huge new appreciation for frontline NHS workers – it’s a great shame it has taken something so dreadful to bring home its importance – and it’s wonderful to see something so significant being done to raise awareness of and funds for these wonderful Birmingham resources.
“We’re sure hundreds – maybe thousands – more pictures could be posted between now and next Thursday, and we’re proud to be doing our bit to support the campaign – and we’re encouraging everyone else to snap their sweaty faces and do their bit too!” he added.
All selfies should be tagged #nhssweatyselfie to qualify for the Gymshark donation.
