HARRIS LAMB REPORTS CONSISTENTLY HIGH RENT COLLECTION FIGURES THROUGHOUT 2021
Property management specialists at Harris Lamb have consistently achieved strong quarter-end rent collection results throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, with their September 21 collection figures being significantly higher than the national average.
The business has successfully collected more than 80 per cent of rents within two weeks over a 12-month period, a 15-20 per cent improvement on the correlating quarter-end figures of 2020.
The business reported a 58.66 per cent success rate in collecting rents by the due date; a huge increase on the national average of 19 per cent across the sector, with 80.44 per cent being secured within 14 days.
Shirley Greenlees, Head of Property Management, said: “We are extremely proud to be defying many of the sweeping statements and assumptions around rent collection performance, having consistently achieved 80 per cent collections across our mixed-sector portfolio over a 12-month period.
“Circumstances remain challenging at present, and the fact that a prohibition on debt recovery action remains in place until the end of March 2022 makes these statistics all the more impressive.
“We credit our business’ strong focus on client relationships for this success, and while the well-documented impact of the pandemic on the retail sector will inevitably skew various average results, the majority of occupiers across the board continue to weather the storm. We are hopeful that the next three months, taking the busier Christmas period into account, will give retail properties a much-needed boost,” she added.
