HARRIS LAMB SELLS DROITWICH WAREHOUSE TO EXPANDING IT SPECIALISTS
Commercial agents at Harris Lamb have sold a Worcestershire industrial building to a global IT provider.
Greensafe IT Ltd bought Unit 26, The Furlong, a 55,764 sq ft warehouse on the Berry Hill Industrial Estate in Droitwich, as part of its expansion plans.
The business, which provides IT services to medium to large corporates throughout the UK and Europe, has its head office located close-by on the Hoo Farm Industrial Estate in Kidderminster, and had identified the need to purchase warehousing to facilitate its future growth.
Charles D’Auncey, who oversaw the sale, said that there had been significant interest in the freehold property.
“High quality industrial opportunities within the Worcestershire area remain in extremely high demand, and while there are various developments in progress, there is still an insufficient supply to meet demand, especially on a freehold basis.
“This particular building, which includes multi-faceted bays, craneage, offices and a canteen/locker area, benefits from excellent UK-wide access links, being located three miles away from Junction 5 of the M5.
“Having been instructed to market the property on a to let or for sale basis, the opportunity attracted a great deal of interest from prospective occupiers, and with the unit meeting all of Greensafe IT Ltd’s requirements, the business moved quickly to agree terms and purchase the property. We are delighted to have secured a swift sale of this building to a dynamic, growing business and we wish them every success in the future,” he added.
Greensafe IT Ltd was established in 2012 and employs around 180 people, with further recruitment planned further to the acquisition of the new site.
John Truslove advised Greensafe IT Ltd on the acquisition.
