Location:

The site is located on the north eastern edge of Wednesbury, approximately 2km from the town centre. It extends to 4.84ha (11.95 acres).

The site access is taken from Friar Park Road. The access utilises the former access to the school onto Friar Park Road. The site itself does not have a frontage to Friar Park Road as it lies to the north of the new school fronting Friar Park Road. There is a second school currently being constructed behind the new school, which will be open from September 2022.

The access is currently also used by the Pulse Sports Centre, that lies to the south east of the proposed dwellings.

The site is very sustainably located and is close to the M5 (J1) and M6 (J9), providing access to the North and South of the country.

Planning:

The overall site area is 4.84ha (11.95 acres) and the net residential area is 2.84ha. The POS provision is 2ha. Planning has been approved for up to 84 dwellings, of which six units will be affordable, secured by a S106 Agreement. There will also be a Sports England contribution of £300,000. The net density is 29.5 dwellings per hectare. The housing mix will provide a range of dwelling sizes from 1 bedroom to 4 bedrooms. The types of dwelling are to be fixed at Reserved Matters.
